A very warm welcome to my blog, Halve Verden or Half the World. I am Kari Egge, the owner of this homepage.
My aim with this blog is that it will contribute to debate, sharing of knowledge about women rights and issues women struggle with around the world. Women’s Rights and gender equality are not given anywhere, and women must therefore continously struggle to gain respect and claim our rights.
We need to support each other and share knowlegde and insights, which will increase understanding among policy- and decision makers, and change attitudes among gate keepers on rights realisation for girls and women.
Over the last months, we have seen increased positive interest for Women’s Rights and gender equality issues and a revitalized women’s movement, especially in the west.
To gain momentum and increase the engagement, we need to continue to mobilise women everywhere to join the global movement for change. It is the only way we can win the battle against unjustice and suppression of our rights! I am looking forward to working with you and ensure you that I will play my role as facilitator, trainer and mobiliser in our joint struggle.

Half the World is the English version of my Norwegian blog Halve Verden. This English version is first and foremost aimed at the broad international women’s network that I am part of . Since Half the World also offers leadership development programmes for women, I will also share information about these opportunities for learning by presenting my leadership development programmes.
